Certified Irrigation Technician Training (IPLLA/IICC) & Testing (IA) Offered February 15-16, 2016

The Indiana Professional Lawn & landscape Association  (IPLLA) is pleased to partner with the national Irrigation Association (IA) in offering a training and testing opportunity February 15-16, 2017.  Here are the details:

Dates:  IPLLA/IICC will offer training on February 15, 2017.

The Irrigation Association will offer testing on February 16, 2017 which requires SEPARATE (must register separately at the IA website linked here)Note page loads slowly and the "REGISTER" button is at the bottom of the page.

Class Size:
  Both training and testing opportunities will be limited to 30 people

Fees
:  Training on February 15:
IPLLA/IICC Members  $ 310.00*
Non Members    $ 410.00*
*Registration fee includes Official Certified Irrigation Technician Training Manual. Lunch is also included on February 15th.

Registration is limited to 30 people and MUST be completed with payment via VISA or MasterCard.  Registration will not be considered complete until payment is made.  Non-Members may join IPLLA/IICC for $150 before signing up to obtain member rates (Join IPLLA/IICC now!)IMPORTANT: This registration is for the class/training only.

IA Non Members   $300.00

**IPLLA Members receive 50% off their membership fee in the Irrigation Association. The IA will confirm your membership with IPLLA directly.

What Is The Certified Irrigation Technician?

The Certified Irrigation Technician program is an opportunity to gain a nationally recognized credential for an irrigation contractor and their staff.

The training and testing process offers the following:

Understanding of Basic Irrigation Principles

   -Sprinkler type, nozzle type, and spacing
   -Swing Joint Assemblies
   -Pipe Fittings and Connection procedures
   -Equipment and Tool Usage
   -Pumps
   -Backflow Functionality
   -Plans and as-built Documentation
   -Water Meter Usage
   -Job Safety
   -Start-up and Winterization/Closing Procedures
   -Identifying Leaks
   -Identifying all Water Supplies
   -Understanding Basic Soil-plant-water relationships


Electrical Principles

     -Voltmeter Operation
     -Controller Electrical Operation
    
-Transformer Operation
     -Solenoid Operation
     -Wiring Types
     -Field Wing/Wire Tracking/Valve locating

Understanding Hydraulic Principles

   -Sensors
  
-Valves
   -Pressure Testing

  
-Flow Testing
  
-Drip Mechanics
   -Reading Friction Loss Charts

NOTE:  The exam itself contains 100 multiple choice and equally weighted questions.  Three hours are allotted for testing and will be proctored.  A calculator and Number #2 pencil is required.
