Scholarship Program Announced for IPLLA/IICC Member Families

The Indiana Professional Lawn & Landscape Association (IPLLA) and the Indiana Irrigation Contractors Council (IICC) have announced an annual scholarship program designed to support the education of a student who is the son or daughter of a member. Remember that membership is by company so a qualified family is any full-time member of your staff.  The first such $2,500.00 scholarship is scheduled to be presented at the association’s Winter Workshop on December 13th at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville.

Scholarship information and applications will be mailed to all current IPLLA or IICC members on September 20th and those wishing to apply must do so prior to November 1st.  The student must be the son, daughter, or legal ward of a member.  They must be enrolled in, or accepted at, a two year or four year college, university, or accredited trade school.  There is no restriction as to their course of study or major.  Those applications received will be reviewed by the IPLLA/IICC Executive Committee and a final decision made on the winning applicant.  That student will be presented the scholarship in person at the 2017 Winter Workshop and the $2,500.00 then deposited directly into their student account.  The primary objective here is to help in the formal education of the child of a member firm.

A second objective is to build the number of such scholarships offered through a matching funds program with our members and supporters.  Thus, in addition to the first scholarship, we will set aside $1,250.00 after awarding our first scholarship.  Members will then be invited to contribute to the scholarship fund.  When the $1,250.00 is matched, it will be combined with the set aside funds to create a second $2500.00 scholarship.  Hopefully, we can gradually build the program to three or four such awards each year.

It goes without saying that the IPLLA/IICC Scholarship Program is also a member benefit.  If you are not a member of IPLLA/IICC, then we invite you to become one by going on our website at IPLLA.COM and clicking on the “Membership” link to join.

For more information on our scholarship program, please feel free to call me at 317.989.1208.
