IPLLA 2012 Advanced Regional Workshops
Registration is now open for the 2012 Advanced Regional Workshops. We are again holding these workshop in four locations around Indiana: Plainfield, Seymour, Fort Wayne, and Merrillville. All dates, times, and available CCH's are listed in the full event brochure which can be clicked below.
About this year's presenters:
 DR. FRED WHITFORD
Topic: Safety, Security, and the Handling of Pesticides — Part I: Transportation
Dr. Whitford is the coordinator of Purdue Pesticide Programs of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. He received a B.S. in Wildlife Management from Louisiana Tech University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Entomology from Iowa State University. He has authored more than 250 research, extension, and regulatory publications, and has delivered over 3800 presentations to a wide array of audiences. He has written fours books: The Queen of American Agriculture: A Biography of Virginia Claypool Meredith, published in 2008 by Purdue University Press; The Grand Old Man of Purdue University and Indiana Agriculture: A Biography of William Carroll Latta, published in 2005 by Purdue University Press; The Complete Book on Pesticide Management: Science, Regulation, Stewardship and Communication, published in 2002 by Wiley & Sons; The Complete Federal and State Compliance Guide for Hoosier Businesses, published in 2001 by Purdue University Press. Dr. Whitford’s prior professional activities include lab and field research, extension outreach, regulatory work and commercial pesticide application.

How to Stay Out of the Hospital and On the Job
Dr. Timothy J. Gibb is an entomologist employed for the past 23 years at Purdue University as insect diagnostician and extension entomology specialist. He received his Masters degree at BYU in Provo Utah, and his Ph.D. at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. His research specialty is “Integrated Pest Management in Urban Environments” where he has published many abstracts, papers, chapters and most recently a book entitled Arthropod Collection and Identification--Field and Laboratory Techniques. Dr. Gibb’s extension focus is the implementation of effective insect management programs in urban landscapes.
